The Apprentice UK’s former contestant Katie Hopkins annoyed many people in social media, particularly those on the heavier side. She had also been reported for committing a “hate crime” against an overweight woman.
Hopkins’ new TV programme about her own weight-loss had five people representing the interests of people with weight problems. Hopkins then said that “all fat people are lazy.” The open insult was added with an insult to campaigner Kathryn Szrodecki saying “it is not healthy to carry that much weight on your knees.
The video for the TLC programme showed that Szrodecki considered the statement as a hate crime. However, Hopkins responded with “Do call the police, there’s a telephone right there. Would you like it brought to you? Because it’s probably going to be hard to walk there.”
Later in the video, it was shown that Szrodecki was calling the police and had reported Hopkins’ “personally offensive” behaviour.
The London Metropolitan Police did not make a comment about calls in relation to Katie Hopkins. However, a source said that the call might be a hoax because it would have gone with a lengthy conversation with a dispatch operator.
But there are separate complaints against Hopkins, such as “dropping an Ebola Bomb in the form of sweaty Glaswegians,” which are under examination of the police.
