In no effort to support his stance with Mexico and Latinos, US GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump said that he would promise ‘no amnesty’ to illegal immigrants in the United States.
The statement indicates a stance that the presidential candidate does not hope to have Mexico’s support for his candidacy and government.
During his speech in Phoenix, Arizona after his return meeting the President of Mexico, Donald Trump said that he would enforce all US immigration laws and begin building a wall across the US-Mexico border during his first day as President.
“On day one, we will begin working on an impenetrable physical wall on the southern border,” Mr Trump said. “We will use the best technology, including above-and-below-ground sensors, towers, aerial surveillance and manpower to supplement the wall, find and dislocate tunnels, and keep out the criminal cartels, and Mexico will pay for the wall.”
“You cannot obtain legal status by entering the country illegally,” said Mr Trump. “We will be fair . . . and compassionate to all, but our greatest compassion must be to our American citizens.”
Mr Trump added that the issue of illegal immigrants would only materialise after the country has finished building its wall.
